Biography - Having stepped down after serving two terms as VJJA’s President, as Immediate Past President, Bob will remain a voting member of the Board of Directors and will serve as an advisor to the new President. He has been actively involved with VJJA for a number of years.  Prior to being elected President in 2001, he served as the association’s Legislative Liaison for three terms and as the Northern district’s Secretary for one term.  He has also been an active member of the conference planning committee for more than a decade.  Currently working out of the Office of the County Executive as Fairfax County’s first Gang Prevention Coordinator, Bob is charged with coordinating the county’s overall response to gangs and gang activity through prevention, suppression and intervention programs and initiatives.  Prior to assuming to that post in February 2005, Bob was employed by the Fairfax County Juvenile & Domestic Relations Court for 18 years, working in the areas of detention, residential services, probation and administration.  He was also a high school football and track coach for 15 years and a volunteer basketball coach for 3 years.  Bob holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Marymount University and a master’s degree in public administration from George Mason University.  In 2000, he was recognized by his peers and presented VJJA’s Meritorious Award in the Area of Court Services.  He and his wife Kathy, their four children (Mary, Maggie, Kate and Joe), their 6 year old German Sheppard, Jasmine, and a cat named Quincy, make their home in Fairfax County.  Bob enjoys spending his free time watching his children grow and participate in sports and other activities.
