P. DOUG POE


Biography - New to the VJJA Board of Directors, Doug was recently elected to serve a two-year term as District Chair, beginning in January 2006.  Doug has been employed by the Department of Juvenile Justice for nine years.  He is currently employed by in the 27th District Court Service Unit, in Pulaski, as a Probation Supervisor.  Prior to beginning work in the juvenile justice field, he worked in adult community corrections in Henrico County.  In 2005, Doug received special recognition from the Department of Juvenile Justice when he took the initiative to develop an automated time sheet, now in use agency-wide.  He partnered with a local community college on the design.  Active in his church and community, Doug is a graduate of Virginia Tech where he earned a degree in Sociology. On a personal note, Doug is married with two children, Isaac and Benjamin, makes his home in Dublin (population 2200) and is a passionate Virginia Tech Hokies sport’s fan.
