In celebration of 15 years in the business, the National Counseling Group hosted their Second Annual Private / Public Partnership Conference. VJJA President Beth Stinnett and Immediate Past President Bob Bermingham were guests at the event. Speakers included: the Honorable Governor Timothy Kaine; Delegate Phil Hamilton; Delegate Steve Shannon; Former Virginia Secretary of Education, James Dyke; Dr. Stanton Samenow; Lisa Hunt, Executive Director of the Center for Clinical and Forensic Services; Craig King, PsyD, MSW; Bud Sedwick, Martinsville CSA Coordinator; and Patrick Slifka, Leslie Martin and Frank Valentine all of the National Counseling Group. In conjunction with the conference several awards were presented. Among those honored was the staff of the Manassas Court Service Unit. The group was recognized for their annual food drive. Accepting on behalf of the staff were VJJA members James Rankin and Ellen Patterson.
